In this instance we generally recommend opting for the bigger size in a one piece. Our swimwear is designed to provide support to a range of body types and bust sizes. We understand the importance of finding the right fit, so our designs incorporate features like adjustable straps, under-bust support, side boning and removable cups. 

While our garments typically run true to size, we do recommend checking our size guide. If you’re still unsure or have specific questions regarding cup size, we are available by appointment in our showroom and always happy to assist you via email at hello@hakeaswim.com. 

Many of our bikini tops and one-pieces feature removable cups for optional added support, though we recommend referring to the individual product listing as some styles may not. Our customer support team at hello@hakeaswim.com are always happy to assist you with any size/fit related questions.

While our tops typically do not have an underwire, under-bust support is achieved through thoughtful design and quality construction so you feel secure and supported while in the water. Our swim tops have been developed for a wide range of body types. We have styles suitable for A - D+ cups. This is achieved through offering a wide size range along with styles which vary in their level of coverage and support. All of our one pieces, bikini tops and bottoms are fully lined to ensure adequate support and comfort both in and out of the water.

Our swimwear fabric is made from high quality ECONYL recycled nylon. This performance fabric is resilient against chlorine, UPF 50+ and resists breakage up to five times longer than standard fabrics. We use premium metal alloy clasps on all our garments ensuring these mechanisms stand the test of time however, you should always rinse your swimwear out in fresh water after use as chlorine and salt water can cause damage over time. Our premium ECONYL swimsuits are designed to withstand the elements and be long lasting when handled with care. We recommend hand washing after each use or a gentle machine wash in cold water only with eco-friendly detergent every so often if you have a newer machine.

1. Always hand rinse your pieces in cold water after use to avoid salt drying into the fabric as this can take a toll on the fibres.

2. To remove sunscreen or marks, hand wash in cold water with a mild earth friendly laundry liquid and focus on gently rubbing it into the areas needed. Do not wash in hot water, tumble dry, dry clean or iron your swimsuit. Heat will cause damage to the fibres.  

3. Avoid twisting and pulling your swimwear when wet.

4. To dry, lay flat in shade or hang over a clothesline. Avoid using pegs. 

5. Avoid contact with rough surfaces, oils, lotions, spas, chlorine and other harsh chemicals to get the longest wear out of your swimsuit.

Mixing swimwear with every day pieces extends the wearability and lowers the cost per wear. A low cost per wear can be a good way to work out if you’ve made a good investment and help with curating a sustainable wardrobe.
